Obama at Camp Lejeune – The War is Over! Sooner or later… and only kinda..
Maybe it’s a nuanced understanding of geopolitics through the prism of the perspective of realpolitique… Or maybe it’s just that the Commander in Chief delivered his address today at an army base with a french name, either way, the Iraq war has been put on notice. A lot of notice. A lot more notice than your boss is going to give you later today when he announces that your job has evaporated and they’ve sold the company car and good luck finding a ride home today, John.
Yep, Obama says the war is over, and when he says over he means immediately. And when he says immediately, he means all troops coming home in 18 months. And when he says all troops, he means all but about 30,000. And when he says 30,000, he means 50,000.
So, hooray! Victory! War is over! And when we say ‘Hooray’ we mean ‘Hey, flip over to Bravo so we can see if Real Housewives is on yet.’
