The Reports of Natasha Richardson’s Death are Highly Exagerrated – Time Out New York Fails to Call Editorial Time Out
After Time Out New York reported that the actress had died in a Canadian skiing accident earlier today, they were surprised to learn that she had been transferred back to the United States with a severe brain injury.
Ironically, TONY reports that they were out of “editorial time outs” when the story broke.
Sorry, couldn’t resist – in fact we’re contractually obligated to make a joke that obvious.
Turns out the real story is that Richardson could be brain dead, and a victim of the cruel nature of the universe, especially when we consider that Lindsay Lohan woke up from a week-long acid trip this morning and was still able to complete her mid-afternoon Sudoku.
On a side note, is it terrible that we felt a little relieved earlier today when we saw a pic of Richardson and realized that we had her confused with Natasha Henstridge? What can we say, we’re looking forward to Species 5.

This is horrible. What a deplorable article. Tasteless, stupid, and worst of all, unfunny. If you’re going to be a brainless heartless moron, at least be a bit funny.
Interesting reaction from a guy whose e-mail address includes the phrase ‘pimpreaper’
I can appreciate good satire and even the outright and obvious potshot, but your article served no other purpose than to take a shot a someone who obviously could not swing back. Your article is not even deserving of the bottom of my cat litter box, where it should aspire to reach!
If you’re talking about TIME OUT NEW YORK, which is the OBVIOUS target of these few paragraphs, we can assure you that they’ve got a few bats they can swing, although it’s clear they don’t swing them very well. (there is one Lohan bash in there, but she’s clearly still swinging)
Since we assume you’re referring to Mrs. Richardson, you might note that we refer to her (in earnest, mind you) as “a victim of the cruel nature of the universe.”
Quite a pot shot, indeed! What a bunch of dicks we are. (earnestness left the building for this line.)

this guy who wrote this is an idiot, just because they are rich and famous doesnt mean they aint human and now this man and his 2 yound boys are with out a mother and a wife,my prayers are with the family in this time of sorrow
Maybe your “OBVIOUS TARGET” is time out new york, but it’s not as OBVIOUS as you think. It’s sad, my mom’s 52 and we just skied this year. It’s scary to think about the cruel nature of the universe.
Don’t be tactless.

Certainly tact isn’t our strong point, but that’s kind of the point. So let’s be straight here – what happened to Natasha Richardson WAS terrible. It does suck, we do realize that – in fact we explicitly point that out.
This also probably isn’t our best work, but we find it fascinating the visceral response that’s evoked by the very AUDACITY we display by trying to make the leap from tragedy to humor. We thinks perhaps you thinks we’re looking for humor in the tragedy, which would be heartless. But the humor isn’t in the tragedy itself – it’s in the fucked up nature of the universe that allows this tragedy to happen to a mother on the same week that Ms. Lohan is running around drunk-twittering while there’s a warrant out for her arrest for violating her DUI probation.
Now that we’ve violated the cardinal rule – if you have to explain it, it wasn’t worth telling in the first place – we’ll slink back into our caves.
Oh, and we really did have her confused with Natasha Henstridge. We’re thinking maybe that’s the part that bothers most of you. Given our Google traffic, it’s definitely a common mistake, and we thought it was funny to point out.
So to sum up – no cruel intentions here. We apologize for the confusion, but we think a lot of this could have been avoided through slower reading and less Red Bull before bed.

What humor…… hum????? Oh I forgot to damn laugh…… it is of bad taste to speak of a mother who departed her family in a most trajic and unforseen way and for this despicable person to write what they did…. well really shows that they have no heart… obviously sick in the head.
