Obama on 60 Minutes – Unemployment Rate Rises; White House Can’t Hire
Could be worse, she could be at Treasury.
On tonight’s 60 Minutes, President Obama revealed that he has offered jobs in the Treasury Department to people who have turned him down. It would seem that someone might be interested in a job these days, but apparently there isn’t anyone in Washington who can make it through a Senate confirmation hearing without the words naked pictures, illegal nanny or tax evasion.
This doesn’t surprise the rest of us; we’ve known for years that politicians are so full of hypocrisy that one look in their walk-in closets would cure osteoporosis.
The rational plan would be to hire someone who is not a politician, but all of us are excluded because we lack experience. It really is some bind we’re in; all the people that are considered qualified for work in government are tainted by what it took to get them into office or positions of power.
It’s distressing to the point of sorrow.
On another note the Wrecking Ball was deeply disturbed to hear the President say that he wouldn’t let Timothy Geithner resign. Maybe the Treasury Secretary needs more time to prove to us we’re not all going to drown, but if the President says anything like, “Geity you’re doing a heckuva job,” we might cry.
