Iowa Supreme Court allows gay marriage – Gay people worldwide still not sure it’s worth visiting Iowa
In a ruling that has left the world grasping for new stereotypes of the Midwest – a place once thought to be full of judgment and intolerance by uppity city folk who never took the time to visit and meet a real, hard – working American – the Iowa Supreme Court has ruled:
“The Iowa statute limiting civil marriage to a union between a man and a woman violates the equal protection clause of the Iowa Constitution.”
Gay couples listening to NPR in their robes across the country cheered wildly, then located Iowa on a map and said – “oh.”
