Vermont Rams Gay Marriage Up Governor’s… Well, you know. Too Much?
The Vermont legislature has overriden a veto by that state’s Governor on a bill to allow gay marriage. Vermonters celebrated briefly by drizzling profane, homoerotic images on their morning pancakes with fresh maple syrup, and then went back to hugging trees and other various communist activities.
Governor Jim Douglas’ last-minute appeal to lawmakers to reconsider the bill apparently failed, when at a press conference he said:
“Please don’t ram gay marriage up our state’s ass just like all those homos will do to fine upstanding Christians like myself who are just a little curious. It’s just not right to take advantage of a vulnerable man like that.”
Ok, he didn’t say that, but we’re pretty sure it’s what he was thinking.

Leave it to Vermont and Iowa to be the most progressive states in the nation, shame on us here in California for passing Prop 9. Whether you call it Gay Marriage or Civil Union, the basic premise is that every person should have equal rights. It’s good to see that some states are progressing, I made a list on my site of the states I think will legalize Gay Marriage first: http://www.toptentopten.com/topten/first+states+that+will+legalize+gay+marriage
