Plaxico’s Song: Justice System Biased Against Good Football Players

Plaxico Burress, the now former NFL wide receiver is feeling the sting of America’s injustice system, which has a pattern of prejudice against football players who have had success in the playoffs.

Burress’ action was not even a crime in several western states; he carried a concealed handgun into a saloon. The gun was discovered when it went off in his pants. Still the courts sentenced him to two years in prison. Almost surely because Burress was a member of the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants.

Meanwhile non Super Bowl winner Michael Vick received the slap on the wrist of 18 months in prison for running a dog fighting ring and personally killing low performing dogs. Also this year, Dante Stallworth (who did play in a Super Bowl but lost) killed a man in a drunk driving accident. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail.

“Just another example of a rich black man who won a Super Bowl taking one in the pooper,” Plaxico Burress said on his way to serve his prison term.

Protestors outside the New York courthouse ranted against the judicial system saying Burress has suffered enough (he did shoot himself in the leg).
