Where have you gone Gray Davis?

The Wrecking Ball Report would just like to remind everyone that the people of California were outraged enough with the leadership of former Governor Gray Davis that they removed him from office. We are not criticizing that decision and actually applaud all democratic efforts to throw off the shackles of an inept or corrupt governing class. Davis may very well have failed his state during the electrical crisis at the beginning of this decade. Rolling blackouts and higher utility bills are both disconcerting, like a bad rash or hemorrhoids in the midst of a summer road trip.

But, right now the city of Los Angeles is literally ablaze, over 20 thousand prisoners will soon be set free, the state is selling off old computers and office furniture to try and cover a multi billion-dollar deficit, schools are closing libraries, the kids won’t get new textbooks for years…

Granted we at the Wrecking Ball Report could not afford a California bureau so we aren’t there, we can’t feel the vibe or breath deeply and take in the smoggy cum smoky air. Thus we need some help; why are you not discussing a recall effort now? Or better yet why have you yet to storm the capitol and run off this round of leadership with bayonets?

From here it seems like you are closer to the brink of the apocalypse than any organized form of government has ever been and yet you let the big fella keep governing along. Perhaps the time for a policy wonk has passed, perhaps you can’t legislate your way out of this one, perhaps you feel the need for someone who has established that he is willing to run a few courses of equine steroids if that’s what it takes to stay on top, but really if that’s the kind of leadership you are looking for,  maybe you should swear off voting and send candidates to the coliseum. There’s one in town and USC only plays on Saturdays.
